Prince Saud’s Hallucinations

According to CBC news:

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal said Arabs want to have their own “mechanism” to resolve regional conflicts such as Iraq and Darfur.

“Experience has shown that Arabs can solve their problems without foreign intervention,” he added.

If it weren’t so sad, this would be the funniest thing I’ve heard in a long time. It’s hard to think of an example of Arab countries solving anything in the last century. They turned Lebanon from the garden spot of the Arab world into the mess it is today. They neither prevented nor resolved the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. The Palestinians can’t manage to govern themselves. As for Darfur, it is the Arabs in Khartoum who are responsible for the genocide, an ongoing crime which the Arab countries have done nothing to stop, even in the form of verbal exhortations.
